Race
Goals:
To have fun, not to kill each
other, complete the event in a
respectable time, see the wild
life and raise funds for charity.
Plus get paid for doing the race
- what a life, oh and one more
thing - keep the boss happy, mind
you a fur trapper sounds nice.
Stu:
Started open Canadian paddling
in Kenya for 5 weeks three years
ago. Took it seriously last year
when the boss told me the River
Quest was all down hill with no
bumps. Devizes to Westminster
Race, PTI Plus Army 100 Shot.
Do most of our training on Lough
Neagh, the largest UK fresh water
lake - only a pond compared to
yours.
Rab:
Started canoeing ages ago (Oct,
2001) same race as Stu but looked
better than Stu. Breekds Rottweilers
in his spare time, Army training
instructor, loves golf more than
canoeing, hopes to have a few
rounds on the way down rver.

Goals:
We're aiming for 52 hours or less.
The race, for us, is part of training
and promotion for a cross-continental,
multi-media supported canoe expedition
to benefit environmental education.
And, of course, we want to win.
Nigel
Ryce has lead canoe and sea kayak
expeditions throughout Canada
and in Japan. While any races
he has competed in have been smaller,
and of a friendly nature, he has
always placed well. He has paddled
the Yukon before and knows the
river well.
Paul
Laperriere has worked for years
in the guiding industry. He has
worked for a successful lodge
on Vancouver Island, leading numerous
trips and most recently headed
Outward Bound Thailand, primarily
teaching Kayaking. He is a phenomenal,
determined athlete.
